Assessing the use by satellite services of spectrum in the 7 to 24 GHz bands

This report has been prepared for GSOA to consider the use of spectrum between 7 and 24 GHz by the satellite industry. This spectrum is of critical importance to the satellite industry and all users of its services, from consumers to businesses and governments, and there are large benefits to be realised from its continued availability.
The satellite industry is continuing to grow rapidly, with revenues in excess of USD 281 billion in 2022. Revenues were realised in five key areas, with spending on ground equipment (including satellite receivers, GPS devices, and all transmission equipment) representing approximately half of this.
