Satellite Solutions for Enterprises in EMEA

Satellite services are increasingly deployed across key enterprise sectors like oil & gas, maritime, mobile backhauling, and disaster response/NGOs to provide an expanding range of corporate networking and business continuity applications. Today’s enterprises in the rapidly growing EMEA and South Asia regions operate within an increasingly digitized global economy with strict requirements on availability of their communication links in diverse geographical settings, whether rural, desertic, offshore and conflict areas.

This webinar addressed the many opportunities and challenges providers of satellite-enabled communications to the region face as demand is affected by COVID-19, roll-out of 5G services, LEOs, and other factors. Sponsored by ABS, the panelists for the webinar were Paolo Pusterla (Managing Director, Sales, at ABS), Riyad Al Adely (CEO of TheAngle), Hanif Kassam (CEO of Intersat Communications Services), and Ali Bofulo (CEO of Nafon Technologies Limited) and the panel was moderated by David Meltzer (Secretary General of GVF). During the hour-long discussion, panellists discussed the reliability and robustness of satellite communications and the need for flexibility in partnering with companies seeking connectivity. Among the many questions from the audience were those asking about the ground segment technologies, verticals experiencing significant growth, and the ability of satellites to quickly restore terrestrially-based communications.
