GSOA appoints Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of Yahsat Group, as new Vice-Chair

14 March Washington, D.C. – The Global Satellite Operators Association (GSOA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ali Al Hashemi as its new Vice Chair. Mr Al Hashemi, who serves as Chief Executive of Yahsat Group, the UAE’s flagship satellite solutions provider, brings extensive experience and expertise in the satellite industry to his new role and will work closely with the Association’s Chair and Board of Directors to promote the growth and impact of the industry.

“It is an honor to  be named as Vice Chair of GSOA and I look forward to working with my peers in the industry to advance our shared goals,” said Mr Al Hashemi. “The satellite industry has a critical role to play in enabling connectivity and innovation around the world, and I am excited to contribute to its continued success and impact through the important initiatives of GSOA.”

Mr Al Hashemi was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Yahsat Group in April 2021, having previously served in concurrent roles as the General Manager of Yahsat Government Solutions and Chief Executive Officer of Thuraya. Ali has over 20 years of experience and a proven executive management track record of driving sales growth in the satellite industry, having developed Yahsat’s managed services capability in the UAE and other key regional markets.
